The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything.
Pure:
It's so sweet to trust in Jesus!
I have had my
share of sickness, heart ache and pain. But I thank God for the desire to
give all the glory to him for my life now. I remember the times when my
focus wasn't totally on the Lord, I experienced a broken marriage after
many years of dedication to my marriage. I must say through prayers and
caring of family I found my way back to the Lord and trusting in him is the
focus of my life now. During my marriage I was blessed with a beautiful
daughter and the support from her is awesome. My gentle style helps me to converse with others and spread the
goodness and sweetness of Jesus I found in him.
Opinionated: I give all thanks to my God for my life. I've had a blessed and happy life. This doesn't mean that my life has been free of faults, failures and troubles. Through them all, God has blessed. I was saved in the church at an early age. God blessed me to continue until this day. The highlights of my life are over 40 years of marriage to Suffragan Bishop Joshua L. Cotton (Pastor of Golden Harvest Apostolic Church) the five children and 11 grandchildren we've been blessed with. I just love being affectionately called "precious" by my husband and my "mom" by my children and their spouses and the last but not least "Maw Maw" and "grandmother" by my grandchildren. In my late 60's I am thankful for feeling needed by all children. To God be the glory. My personality, as a child, was very tender and I cried easily, which I did not like. I could not control my emotions, especially if someone did not seem to care for me, or talked to me in a rough or harsh way. That experience has helped me, as an adult, to be sensitive to others. This I find essential in my walk with the Lord. I love people and like associating with them. This enriches my life. My home has been a home for many people that were away from home. We have young men & women whose lives have been touched by our concern. It has only been God that has given us the opportunity to share the love that has been given to us. It's rewarding to know you have helped somebody. To God be the glory! It is my desire to live my life for Jesus, because "Great is his faithfulness" and "I have that blessed assurance that he is with me."
Sister Shirley
Shirley & Granddaughter Kara. **Kara Now.**
Sincere: I married shortly after leaving school. I was blessed with eight children. My brood consists of 2 boys, twin girls, another set of twin girls,, then another set of twins, 1 boy, 1 girl. My nurturing skills were challenged through many hardships. My determination and love for God gave me the courage to keep my family together after being deserted by my husband, the father of these children. My children are loving and caring, although they suffered immensely during their young lives. Their relationships with each other is divine. Children learn what they live and in turn teach what they have learned. I had deep morals, values and a strong love for God that helped me instill in my children good values. One special gift that the Lord gave me is to sing his praises, touching many souls in distress. I am educated through hard knocks from many experiences in my life. I love speaking to young women encouraging them to be positive in their thinking no matter what comes their way. Whatever comes your way in life whether it is true, honorable, lovely, good or bad, try o let your mind dwell on good things. The following is just a small touch of my sincere messages to you: When you are feeling disgruntled and unhappy, focus on your blessings. (Growl all day and you'll feel dog-tired at night). Anonymous* It's hard to believe we can call pain a blessing but once God shows himself as the God of comfort, we see the benefit. (I saw a star*. I reached for it, I missed it, so I accepted the sky). Anonymous* No one can explain it, but God's supernatural peace invades your heart when you surrender your cares to him. Be encouraged to listen to the spirit of the Lord. )
***A little something Shirley wrote some time back***
Lord help me to *Love*
Love you without fear,
and trust you without questions.
Lord I need you
without demanding.
Please let me *Love* you
without restrictions.
Lord I am willing,
to accept your changes in my life,
and desire you with all my heart,
For a *Love* so free will never fly away.
Encouragement: As a young woman I found many times when it seemed no one understood how I really felt. I experienced many heartaches because I decided to do things my way and not listen to anyone else. My experiences taught me many things. I realize that becoming a teen was very traumatic, experiencing falling in love at fourteen, but being restricted to keep my feelings to myself, not knowing that those emotions were normal. Some thought it was "puppy love", but to me it was real. It has taken me much time to think about how deeply one can care and if rejected it can be devastating. I realize now that when someone rejects you they just may not feel the way you do and that happens in life. Their rejection of you may be the cause of some hang-ups with in themselves. I'm so thankful that through education, I now know that caring and loving is a gift from God. There are many that will need and appreciate my sincerity, truth and love. It isn't easy when you are young and don't understand lots of things, or even oneself. But don't let troubles and burdens pull you down in life. Look to someone that can help you share your burdens, soothe your thoughts and lift your mind to a higher place.
I was born over 70 years ago in Temple Texas. The eldest of 14 children, and at the age of 4 we moved to Kings County. I wish to share the gifts that God has given me. Good Poetry and Traditional Gospel music stir my soul, and to write Poetry and Music is one of my greatest joys. I've enjoyed singing and playing the Piano since I was a little girl. I especially like to play music for and sing with children. I returned to school and received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Child Development at the age of 57. God is Good.

I
have a wonderful son
Henry (AKA) Zack who has supported
me in my endeavors.
I feel blessed among women for the Lord couldn't have given me a better
son. I have two grand-daughters one great-grand son and a great
grand daughter. My life is filled with many friends that I cherish.
Traditional Gospel Music is a soulful sound that can touch your inner spirit. It is a joyful
sound that I like to express on the piano that can soothe and help lift me above my troubles. I have been writing songs since I was 12 years old or younger. I find much comfort through the Holy Spirit of God and the songs I write. Sharing this music with you I know will help you during some trying times, and can encourage you to just hold on and believe that everything will be all right.
